Welcome to our page. Mary and I are in our mid seventies and we were the owners and operators of an award winning restaurant, Glynn's Inn, located in Huntington, Long Island.  We retired in 1973 and traveled extensively, but had never been on a cruise.  In July of 1996 our travel agent persuaded us to take our first cruise. At her suggestion we booked Celebrity's Zenith.  It was an enlightening, unforgettable experience that has changed. our lives. After all the years of searching we finally found the ideal vacation for us.  We are now totally addicted and have become avid cruisers.  We use the word cruise when we are writing a review but when Mary and I refer to our cruises we refer to them as "Honeymoons." We use the term "Honeymoon" because Mary and I can't think of a more romantic, intimate way of spending quality time with the one you love than when one is cruising.

We would like to tell you some of our likes and dislikes so you can better relate to what you read in our reviews.  The attitude and the desire of the crew to please us is the number one reason we love to cruise.  We enjoy being pampered and being catered too.  We like the newer, larger ships because they afford us more choices.  They are like floating resorts with many of the same amenities.  The newer ships offer the latest in design and technology and creature comforts. We enjoy being on a beautiful ship.  The overall decor and appointments of the ship are important to us.  The new larger ships have alternative restaurants, and more music and entertainment choices. Before dinner we enjoy going to an intimate lounge, for cocktails and some of that "in each others arms dancing." We love to dance and listen to the music of the forties and fifties, that Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey hold me tight dance music.  The kind of music that makes your feet tell you they want to dance.

We look for quality food and efficient, friendly service. But not so friendly that the waiter becomes a member of our party.  After dinner we enjoy having after dinner drinks and a dance or two while waiting to go to the showroom.  After the show, we take a leisurely stroll back to our cabin, and if by chance we pass a lounge and hear the strains of one of those beautiful ballads from the past, we just might stop by and have a dance or two.

We live in Florida and see enough casual attire.  We look forward to the formal nights, a chance to get all dressed up, with some place to go. A cruise ship is one of the few places remaining that you can be dressed up and not have to worry that you will be seated next to someone in jeans. We are not very interested in games or quizzes. The ports and excursions are not important to us, we have done enough sight seeing in our lifetime. We enjoy the ambiance of the ship, especially when everyone is ashore.  If we do go ashore, we usually go to a secluded beach or to a hotel that will allow us to pay a small fee for the use of their facilities. Ocean area, pool, shower, restaurant and etc.

Mary and I are romantics.  We do a lot of hand holding and hugging and billing and cooing.  Remember, this is not just a cruise to us.  Its a very special occasion, we are having another "Honeymoon."  It is a chance for us to spend some real intimate, quality time together.  For those who foolishly think love is only for the young, we would like them to know that, "Aged love is special, it is like a rare wine, it gets smoother and more velvety with age." And for you old-timers out there, we also have a message for you.  Always remember, "You're never too old for a Honeymoon."

We hope knowing some of the things we like and dislike will help you make a better evaluation of our reviews.  Mary and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have, especially from first-time cruisers.

May your next cruise be your best!
